Widgit Symbols can be used in TapToTalk, as described below. When doing so, be sure to honor the Widgit Symbols copyright and license terms.

A Widgit Symbols file has the extension .emf. Since TapToTalk Designer does not handle the .emf file format, you must convert it to another format (you cannot just change the extension, the file must be converted). The easiest way to use a Widgit Symbols file in TapToTalk Designer is to use Internet Explorer to convert it to a bitmap (.bmp) file.

Follow these steps:

  1. Open up Internet Explorer
  2. Open up Windows Explorer and navigate to the desired .emf file
  3. Drag the file onto Internet Explorer and drop it there; the image will appear in Internet Explorer
  4. Right-click on the image in Internet Explorer and choose Save Picture As...
  5. In the Save dialog box, choose Bitmap from the "Save as type" drop down list
  6. Click save; the file will be saved as a bitmap (.bmp) file
  7. Upload the .bmp file to TapToTalk Designer as you would any other file
